Supporting the Formation of Church Leaders

Supporting the Formation of Church Leaders

Gus and Mary Blanchard are not strangers to Luther Seminary. Their commitment to supporting the work of the larger church through the formation of church leaders has been strong for many years now. Gus' leadership in the corporate world (CEO at Deluxe Corporation, among others) honed his appreciation for the importance of leadership.

Mary and Gus are active in their congregation, St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Mahtomedi, and support the mission of Luther Seminary through their annual giving. Gus also now serves as chair of Luther Seminary's Board of Directors and chaired the search committee that brought Luther's president, Robin Steinke. He eagerly lends his years of leadership experience to the mission of Luther Seminary.

He and Mary want to use all the options for supporting the Sustaining Fund now, as well as including the Seminary in their estate plans and wills. "We've seen up close the kind of outstanding leaders that the Luther Seminary experience can deliver year after year. We want to do all we can to ensure that our future graduates are equally educated and developed for leadership. It's our honor to have this opportunity."
