Welcome!

Making a planned gift is a wonderful way to show your support and appreciation for Luther Seminary and its mission, while accommodating your own personal, financial, estate planning, and philanthropic goals. With smart planning, you may actually increase the size of your estate, save on taxes, receive income for life, or enjoy other financial benefits – all the while knowing that you have made a wonderful gift to Luther Seminary.

We recommend that you familiarize yourself with various gift options by exploring How to Give and What to Give tabs or download or request for free The Guide to Estate Planning or The Guide to Gift Planning. Heritage Society

All individuals who have made a planned gift to Luther Seminary are automatically enrolled as members of The Heritage Society. The Heritage Society was established to recognize, thank, and steward individuals and families who have made planned gifts to Luther Seminary. We are grateful to society members, who live out their Christian faith and values through their planned gifts to Luther Seminary.

The Heritage Society was started in 1987 by the Alumni Council as a way for its members to show gratitude for their seminary education through estate gifts. The Society was then expanded to include friends of the Seminary who wanted to support Luther through their estate plans. Countless scholarships, professorships, and programmatic support have been funded with planned gifts – benefiting current and future generations for years to come.

Thank You and Recognition

To say thank you to Heritage Society members, members have the option to receive the NATIVITY sculpture of the Holy Family, commissioned exclusively for the Heritage Society. Artists Todd and Nadine Weber created the statutes as a unique expression of Luther's history and no two sculptures are alike. To learn more, click here.

In addition, members also receive:

Heritage Society members are stakeholders in the seminary's mission to educate leaders called and sent with the good news of Jesus Christ into a world of many cultures and religions.
